How Do You Like Me Now?

Again, a big thank you to Dr. Rick Tan of Syrendell ( for The Parenting Passageway’s lovely new logo.  You will notice things are much easier to find as listed under “Development” by age and “Homeschooling” by grade.  “Development” also includes Adult Development as the human being is continually changing and growing throughout this life, so you can find posts on inner work and personal development there.

“Discipline” is divided into authority (so all those back posts on holding the space, boundaries, etc are there), general support and tools.  “Family Life” includes many things, including sibling relationships, anger,  festival life, homemaking, dealing with sleep challenges, and more!

The book study series are now in one place divided by book, along with those one-post reviews, and “Twenty Days Toward More Mindful Mothering” and “Back to Basics” series are now available under the “General Wisdom” tab.

Thank you for being my reader, I hope you like the new ways to find things!

  1. Looks gorgeous Carrie! This will help all the people I refer you to!! I am constantly recommending your site to friends and family. You are my parenting guru! xo m.

    • Oh ecoMILF, thank you so much! I hope anyone who comes to my space feels supported and encouraged.
      Many blessings, thank you!

  2. Oh please please please keep your full feed. Please? Pretty please? Usually end up unsubscribing to blogs that do partial feeds, I have way too many to read to click through 😦

  3. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! So great to be able to browse by topic. I’m looking forward to finding even more of your great wisdom here.

  4. I really like the look of your new blog! It is easier to find what you are looking for and the bigger text makes it much easier to read. The new logo is nice as well (although I miss the serenity of the pretty little picture you had beneath your blog title previously, I guess I am just a little old-fashioned ;-)).
It is so much easier to read and find all your wonderful information now.
Thank you for all your wonderful work!

    • Maggie,
In some ways I miss my little picture too. Change is not always easy! But I do love what Dr. Tan created, that layered watercolor is pretty. 🙂
And now I can have a button!
      Many blessings,

    • You are right Carrie! I guess I am a person who just needs a little adjustment time,….after all I am one of your ‘older’ followers (in every sense of the word) so I can use (my,… cough, cough) age as an excuse. 😉

  5. It looks fantastic! I’m so thrilled! I use this site almost daily as I walk as a parent:) Oh, and I sent you an email last week….I’m sure you’ve been quite busy with all this change, but I’d love your thoughts on some of our homeschool/discipline challenges, if you have time. Again, love the blog!

  6. How do I like you now? Well, I really liked you already, but the “facelift” is quite wonderful 🙂 I must say that for a newer reader like myself, the new organization is very helpful! I will be spending more time looking at back posts now.

  7. It looks great! I really think this will help bring your message to even more families. One of my favorite features used to be the most popular posts sidebar–was always really wonderful to see what other people were looking at, to follow the festivals, etc. Can it come back?

    • We’ve added the “Most Popular” posts back to the site as well, but we’re limiting it to only the Top 5 for now.. (ten always seemed to take up too much screen real estate)

  8. It looks wonderful, Carrie, only I wish you could maybe use another color besides black. Maybe it would be harder to read? Anyway, I love how easy it is to refer to older posts, which I certainly use!!! Exciting times and changes on the PP. E 🙂

  9. I can’t see. : ( I’ll have to wait until I get to campus to see it. My computer won’t let me. I miss your bridge though! Kinda gave me the background feeling like I’m always trying to cross over to understanding. Silly I’m sure, but I’m older-ish too. ; )

  10. Congratulations, and I think the most important thing is that YOU are happy with it! I’m grateful for easier navigation – I’m enjoying checking it out. I can’t see the categories tabs though, they’re “hidden” behind a grey horizontal bar? Probably my own computer though since no one else has mentioned anything!

    • Stella,

If you’re not running one of the later versions of Firefox, Chrome or the Internet Explorer browsers, you may have some strange things happen to the display. I would start with your browser and upgrade if it is an older version.

  11. Hi Carrie
I had a quick look around and it seems easier to navigate. Will be great to find all the topics you are searching for in one place. So glad if you are pleased and I hope it makes your busy day a bit easier to.
I didn’t see your photo on the about page. Call me old fashioned (or very visual) but I like to have a face to the ‘voice’ I am reading. Maybe some of your newer readers might feel the same?

    • Thank you for the reminder! I was supposed to put Carrie’s picture on her about page and I had forgotten! We had pictures taken last fall specifically for this too 🙂

The about page is updated, enjoy!
