  1. Wow. What a pair of women living amidst such great challenges. I’m hoping for them that they can be bold and continue to invite others into their lives to get through these days. It’s good for all this way… at least I believe so.

To experience such physical challenges as a parent, to me, also brings with it the need to let go of so many things… so much of all that “other stuff” that we work so hard at the rest of the time.

    Such profound experiences.

A good friend of mine living in California for a PhD program recently severely broke her ankle while living out there. She was just back and spoke to our (very tight) church community about how scared she was after the accident. She didn’t think that she had a community out there to really support her. Surprise surprise… answers and helpers came out of the woodwork and she stood before us and honestly said that it was the best thing that had ever happened to her! She said that she wouldn’t trade the experience for a million dollars, and that she also may decide to permanently live there. I was really stunned…. what a testimony and good reminder.

I hope that I can be as strong as all three of these women if/when I am faced with such a time.

I will definitely keep them in my thoughts and prayers.
