Eva over at Untrodden Paths, one of my favorite blogs, has tagged The Parenting Passageway in the homeschooling game here: http://untroddenpaths.blogspot.com/2011/10/homeschool-questionnairehausunterrichts.html
So, without further ado, here are some of the answers for the homeschooling game from my perspective!
One homeschooling book you have enjoyed:
Oh, so many! One that comes to mind is The Christopherus Waldorf Curriculum Overview For Homeschoolers by Donna Simmons.
Another one I found fairly recently at our local Christian homeschooling store was Cindy Rushton’s Time For Tea Volumes 1-2. Whilst from a Charlotte Mason perspective, which isn’t the way I homeschool, I thought the general and practical things about what homeschooling families deal with was right on.
I also would like to put in a plug for my reader Laura Grace Weldon’s “Free Range Learning: How Homeschooling Changes Everything.” I hope to review this soon on this blog, but I think its almost 300 pages could be very inspirational for someone deciding to homeschool, no matter what method one chooses.
Okay, I am way over the one book limit…I am obviously bad at this game!
One Resource You Wouldn’t Be Without:
My husband. He is such a huge help in keeping all of us laughing, in stepping in and helping in any way he can.
One Resource You Wish You Had Never Bought:
I had a copy of The Well-Trained Mind once and it really just didn’t suit us at all. I gave it away.
One Resource You Enjoyed Last Year:
We enjoyed Jakob Streit’s stories of the Old Testament for third grade.
One Resource You Will Be Using This Year (which by this year, you are already using!)
Math By Hand Grades One and Four. I am using this as a supplement to what we were already doing, but it is so enjoyable to have all those games and the kits full of art and craft supplies for each block all together.
One Resource You Would Like To Buy:
A trampoline for our yard.
One Resource You Wish Existed:
I wish we had a local eurythmist who could work with our homeschooling group.
One Homeschool Catalogue You Enjoy Reading:
One Homeschooling Website You Use Frequently:
None, but I do have some very favorite blogs: Are So Happy, Untrodden Paths, Rockin Granola, Sister Mama Gets Real, and Real Learning In The Heart Of My Home come to mind very quickly, but there are others!
I know so many of you out there have blogs; would any of you like to write a post with your own answers to these questions? Feel free to leave a link in the comment section so others can find you!
