Hi Lisa,
When my baby was oh so small I used snack time and a sling a lot. With a toddler, we homeschool outside often. I have a chalkboard I can move outside (it is on wheels), and a fenced in backyard with a playset, sandbox, etc. We also homeshool on the driveway quite a bit and have out jump ropes, scooters, bikes, etc. I have two older children so they can take turns entertaining, which doesn't help in your case because you are busy with one. Fourteen months is a hard age because they just want to toddle. How about homeschooling in the kitchen where your toddler can play in the sink? Sometimes the younger ones create a bit of a mess, but this buys you time. And yes, saving some things for naptime. We still do that as well as my toddler is now almost two and into lots of things! Also, lots of breaks for movement and snacks that all can enjoy!

Does that help at all?
Many blessings,
Carrie

What is your baby doing while you homeschool your other 2 ? I am really struggling to homeschool just one 2nd grader with a 14 month old crying for attention every step of the way? Today we are trying to wait until nap time, we tried to play a board game and we can't even get through that!

Hi Maggie -- Yes, singing and singing games! Or special seasonal circle games, like songs dealing with being a woodcutter, dwarves, etc.
Thank you for having me clarify..
Blessings to you!

Carrie,
You listed music 'lessons' for your Kindergartener, what do you mean by that?
I do not imagine that you are teaching him/ her a music instrument at this age, what are you doing during that time, singing songs, is this part of your circle time?

I would love to see your daily rhythm from waking to bedtime to see how your schooling falls into the day - if you are able to share that would be wonderful!

Hi Mystikmomma! How are you?
You are very kind.
I write my own curriculum for the most part and I take things from here and there and write some blocks of my own. For Kindergarten and First Grade, I pretty much write my own (but I have to admit to having lots of books with fairy tales and puppetry in them, so I do have ideas! :)) I don't have any planning sheets other than my simple little table and then I write any needed notes/more detailed lesson plans beneath the table.
For first and second, I wrote everything long-hand (no tables) and pretty much wrote each day from the morning verses to the closing verses.
There are many other planning posts on this blog, if you use the search engine they should come up, but here are a few to get you going:
http://theparentingpassageway.com/2010/06/14/individual-assessment-for-homeschooling-success/
and here: http://theparentingpassageway.com/2010/02/23/planning-101-planning-for-fall/

I hope that is helpful to you!

Many blessings,
Carrie

Carrie,

I have the 3rd grader and the Kinder. Do you have any other planning sheets you could share? I would love to use what you have as my own starting point. If you post on your website links or send attachments that would be terrific! I do have the same curriculum and was wondering what you are using for the kinder. I thought about making do or getting the one from Little Flower Garden.

Again, any planning sheets in word would be great. I have such a hard time working it all out on paper.

Thanks a bunch!

Carrie - I have a kindergartner and a third grader too :-)

I love your chart! I have been trying to figure out the logistics of our school year because a lot of Waldorf is so age specific. Plus my K guy is really wanting a more school-ish time at the table this year. I have lots of fun things planned for him based around the 5-6 year old fairy tales. I will be using Christopherus for my 3rd grader. I really think a chart like this will help make things feel more cohesive! Thanks!!!
