I try to keep this blog more inner-oriented toward the parenting journey than the outer “this is what we do in our family”, but in a spirit of openness and fun I thought you all would enjoy hearing these little-known things about me. You can also check out my “About” page here (that’s all those degrees, credentials, little things like that!): http://theparentingpassageway.com/about/ and my two personal posts about my husband and third child: /theparentingpassageway.com/2009/10/01/happy-anniversary-to-my-husband/ and /2009/10/09/the-parenting-passageway-is-about-parenting-afterall/ And they have pictures!
Here is my little list of 10 things you don’t know about me:
1. I used to be a bodybuilder, the 114 and a half pound under class. And when my kids are big enough, I would like to be back to lifting weights everyday.
2. I used to work in gyms and I ran a gym when I got out of college.
3. I have played the flute since I was 9 or so and still play. ( I secretly have wanted to learn how to play cello though!)
4. I love Gospel music! Kirk Franklin and The Family is one of my favorites.
5. I hate TV, but I can get sucked into the performances of “So You Think You Can Dance” and “American Idol.” It is a complete vice.
6. I have never smoked and I don’t drink alcohol.
7. I love the smell of coffee but hate the taste of it so I don’t drink that either. The one time I did manage to drink coffee was once in college before an exam and I think my husband had to peel me off the ceiling. I like herbal teas though!
8. I love to hike.
9. I love all animals and especially have an affinity for sea turtles and owls. Also for Leonbergers, the kind of dog we have.
10. I am very computer illiterate; my husband is the one who enables what I write to actually make it onto the Internet. Thanks honey, for being my number one supporter!
In fun,
Carrie
