It does. Thank you!

SO many books and such say to put Baby in one layer more than you would wear. Since I've always felt cold, even on warm days, I think he'd be wearing too much! I now realize that much of my life I've just been too cold and had to struggle to keep warm, using up precious energy. Thank goodness I learned my lesson at long last, though it took 34 year and being pregnant to do it! :)

I think the rule is to check the hands, feet and back of neck and adjust from there...of course, sweaty wee one would probably be bad! For older kids, we think 3 layers on top and 2 on the bottom...Does that help?

Blessings
Carrie :)

Part of why I am asking is because I know there's a difference between children under 1 year old and older than 1 year, specifically when it comes to the body self-regulating temperature. And regulating room temperature, especially with a wood-stove can add to that challenge. I had read that regardless, a child under 1 should always be bundled up. Which is why I am confused with this topic. Does that make sense?

I read the above, as well as a few articles from your site, a couple from Rhythm of the Home, and others. They have been most enlightening and helpful in caring for my 7 month old son.

Now, I have a question about warmth- according to Waldorf philosophies, can there ever be too much? We live in north-western MA (almost VT) and burn a wood-stove to heat our small home. Should I still be keeping a hat on him and bundling him up, even when it's roasty-toasty?
