Thank you so much for all the inspiration and wealth of information you provide with the links. I may have to turn this into '20 WEEKS toward becoming a more mindful mother!' In all seriousness though, there is so much I want to give much thought and focus to here, I really think I am going to spend the next week just being with the notes and inspiration I have from this post and the mentioned links. DH and I are also going to sit down together and write a family mission statement, something that is very new to us. I will also work on the personal one. Thank you so much for all the guidance here. It is funny, in the posts about the tapestries - 7 year cycles - (I am 30 now) I was reading about how the 30 y/o mother will need a mentor, a guide for her parenting and homemaking - I thought 'Well, I've most definitely found the most wonderful mentor and guide possible - Carrie!' You inspire me so much and fill my life with passion and focus. Thankyou. love and blessings to you xxx

Oh, NEVER be sorry! I don't think I made it clear those were that speaker's words at all, I actually chuckled when I read what you wrote because I like it when we all think! So no worries at all! It always gives me a chance to go back and edit or add in... Absolutely no worries.
Please get feeling better!!:)

I am so sorry. I just reread what I wrote. I have a horrible head cold and chose awful words for what I meant. I wasn't trying to be mean or rude. I really do love your writing on here. I was aiming what I said at the author, not you. I am so sorry.

I am just repeating what that speaker said, not trying to be insulting. His notion was forgiveness was part of Jewish , Chrisian and Islamic traditions. He is living in Japan currently and his thought was that in many other societies, forgiveness is not required or thought of in the same way. Things happen and people were more focused on enduring. I am just saying what he said, please don't kill the messenger :) Thank you for your Hindu examples as well! :)

I love your website and I am following your 20 days faithfully. But I must disagree with your statement that forgiveness is a Judeo-Christian and Islamic notion. I was raised Jewish and my mother followed her Native beliefs and it's a bit insulting to assume that forgiveness belongs to one religious group. It is universal.

pg. 29 has but one example of the concept of forgiveness in the ancient Hindu epics and sastras. The next page discusses the concept of divine forgiveness being older than the bible in Hindu religion, as well.

Lynn,
I am certain you are a wonderful mother! Have confidence so your family will have confidence in you as well!
If these things stump you, ask your husband, your family, your closest friends. Often we berate ourselves way more than we would our friend and yet we should be best friends with ourselves!

Let me know what you come up with!
Many blessings,
Carrie
